LIEUTENANT COLONEL AND PILOT ON THE 13TH B-25 BOMBER THAT TOOK OFF FROM THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER USS HORNET FOR THE DOOLITTLE RAID ON TOKYO, JAPAN APRIL 18, 1942. REMAINED IN CHINA-BURMA-INDIA COMMAND AFTER TOKYO RAID UNTIL JUNE 1943. SUBSEQUENTLY SERVED IN MANY OPERATIONAL ASSIGNMENTS AT SQUADRON, GROUP AND WING LEVEL. RATED AS COMMAND PILOT. DECORATIONS INCLUDE DISTINGUISHED FLYING CROSS, SILVER STAR, AIR MEDAL, ARMY COMMENDATION MEDAL, AND THE CHINESE ARMY, NAVY, AND AIR CORPS MEDAL, CLASS A, 1ST GRADE.
