ACTIVITY DURING WWII

SERVED IN THE EUROPEAN-AFRICAN-MIDDLE EASTERN THEATER OF OPERATIONS WITH THE 380TH BOMBARDMENT SQUADRON, 310TH BOMBARDMENT GROUP (MEDIUM), 57TH BOMBARDMENT WING, 12TH AIR FORCE AS A PILOT. PLANE B-25 TYPE AIRPLANE WAS ON A ROUTINE TRAINING FLIGHT, EN ROUTE TO GHISONACCIA, CORSICA, ON 10 MAY 1944 WHEN IT CRASHED INTO A MOUNTAIN NEAR SARTENE, CORSICA. A/C NO.4253371 'DEATH WIND' (MACR-16458-CRASHED INTO MOUNTAIN). HIS REMAINS WERE RECOVERED FROM CRASH SIGHT AND RETURNED AFTER BEING MISSING FOR 66 YEARS TO ESSEX CENTER, VERMONT FOR BURIAL WITH FULL MILITARY HONORS ON AUGUST 20, 2010.
